Description
A large oval face, hammered all over into a field of small dimples, with a single spiral carved through it from the outer edge to the centre. The groove is darkened so the line reads clearly against the bright dimpled surface, and the face is domed rather than flat, so it catches light differently as the hand moves. The spiral is cut by hand, which is why the spacing between the turns tightens as it nears the centre instead of stepping evenly like a machined groove. Every dimple around it is a separate hammer strike. Nothing here is cast: the surface is the record of the making. The band is wide and carries the same dimpled hammering, so the ring reads as one piece rather than a face mounted on a plain shank. Where the face meets the band, small silver beads sit on each side — the only smooth, rounded elements on the ring, and the detail that keeps the join from looking abrupt. The spiral is among the oldest marks made in Anatolia, cut into pottery and stone here long before it was worn as jewellery. It has been read as water, as growth, as return — we make no claim about which. What matters on the hand is that it is a single continuous line, so the eye follows it inward and the ring holds attention without a stone. The face covers a good part of the finger and sits high, so this is a piece to wear alone. There is no stone and no second metal: the whole ring is 925 sterling silver. Made by hand in our Cappadocia workshop. Because the spiral is cut and the surface struck by hand, the line and the hammer pattern differ on every ring.

FAQs
Is this ring solid sterling silver?
Yes — 925 sterling silver throughout, face and band alike, made as a single piece. There is no plating, no stone and no second metal. The dark line in the spiral is oxidation on the silver itself.
Is the spiral carved or cast?
Carved. The groove is cut into the face by hand and the dimpling around it is struck one blow at a time, which is why the turns tighten unevenly toward the centre and no two rings match. A cast ring would repeat the same pattern every time.
Will the dark line in the spiral fade?
The oxidation sits down inside the carved groove, below the surface, so hands and clothing never touch it. The hammered field around it will brighten with wear, which makes the spiral stand out more rather than less. Avoid liquid silver dips — they reach into the groove and strip the line out.
Does a face this size feel unstable on the finger?
No. The band is wide and made as one piece with the face rather than soldered onto a thin shank, which spreads the load and stops the oval from rotating.
What ring sizes are available, and can it be resized?
Available sizes are shown in the size selector. If yours is not listed, message us before ordering and we will make it to measure in the workshop.
How do I clean it?
A dry polishing cloth across the raised dimples only. If dust settles in the spiral, warm water and a soft brush, then dry it fully. Keep polishes and dip solutions out of the groove.
Is it suitable for daily wear and sensitive skin?
Yes — solid 925 silver with no nickel. Remove it before swimming, showering or using cleaning products, as chlorine and household chemicals dull the finish.
Where is it made?
In our own workshop in Cappadocia, Turkey. The spiral is cut and the surface hammered by hand on every piece.
